Before you start your ride, download the Lime app and create an account. You’ll need to provide a valid phone number or email address and a form of payment.
Starting an e-scooter or e-bike ride
- Locate the Lime vehicle you’d like to use. You can also use the map in the Lime app to locate nearby vehicles.
- If you locate a vehicle on the map, tap Reserve to hold it for 10 minutes.
- In select cities, we offer a one-tap start when you reserve your vehicle. When you get close to the vehicle, you’ll see a Start ride option on your app.
- If you don’t see a Start ride option in your Lime app or have not reserved your vehicle, click Scan to start and scan the QR code on the vehicle .
Navigating Ride Zones
Before you start your ride, familiarize yourself with Ride Zones on the map. These may impact where you can travel, your vehicle speed, or where you can park. Refer to this article to learn about Lime Ride Zones.
Trouble starting your ride
Follow these tips if you’re having difficulties getting started.
- The QR code is damaged or unreadable: If the code isn’t damaged, tap the flashlight icon on the screen and try again. If this doesn’t work or the code is damaged, you can also enter the plate number from the vehicle.
- The plate number is damaged or unreadable: please try another nearby vehicle while our local team fixes this issue.
- The app shows a vehicle error: Please try another nearby vehicle. Our team is aware and on their way to retrieve the vehicle.
- The app shows a payment error: You may need to add or update your payment method. After you do so, try again.
