Payment pre-authorization hold
You may see a pre-authorization hold on your card when you start a ride. This will show up as a pending charge on your bank statement. This hold ensures there are enough funds available to pay for your ride.
We release this temporary authorization hold immediately after your ride ends and post a refund within 10 days. This typically appears as an adjustment to your available balance or the removal of a pending charge.
Your bank may not reflect this change right away. We encourage you to check with your bank to understand their policies on pre-authorization holds.
Price higher than expected
Lime charges a fixed rate to unlock a vehicle and then charges per minute as you ride. Rates and promotions may vary by city, day of the week, and time. Rides may also be subject to a minimum charge.
Refer to your Lime app to see your local costs and rates. You can view this information by tapping on a vehicle on the map. Costs will also show before you unlock a vehicle.
We will email you a copy of your receipt after your ride ends. You can also view your receipt in the Lime app:
