How to properly pack/stack scooters in a pickup truck:
- Rows of scooters should be facing in the same direction.
- Place one row in the pickup bed, then put the front half of the second row of scooters on the back end of the first row. This positioning protects the most sensitive parts of the scooter on the neck.
- Then add a third row (or fourth), tied and secured with a binding.
- No scooters should overhang the edge of the truck.
How NOT to pack a pickup truck:
- Don’t leave scooters unevenly packed.
- Don’t stack scooters haphazardly on top of each other. Sensitive and breakable parts on the necks touching each other can result in damage.
- Leave all scooters standing up if there is room
- Don’t leave scooters on their sides.
How to properly pack/stack scooters in a van:
- Position the scooters in rows, all facing the cabin.
- Place one row in the van, then place half of the second row of scooters on top of the first row and face the same direction. This form of stacking protects the most sensitive parts of the scooter’s neck.
- Add a third (or fourth) row, tied and secured with a rope/grip tape.
- Do not have scooters hanging out over the edges of the van.
- Always stack them gently.
How NOT to pack a van:
- Do not transport the scooters unevenly.
- Don't pile them randomly on top of each other. Sensitive and fragile parts are located on the necks of the scooters, and if they bump into each other, they can break.
- Never throw a scooter.
How to pack a vehicle in which scooters won’t stand up
It is always preferable to pack scooters standing up. When filling a car, SUV, or other vehicle where scooters will not fit standing up:
- Lay the scooters on their side
- Stack in alternating directions, as seen in the picture. This keeps the necks and sensitive areas from crashing into each other in transit and causing damage.
How to pack a trailer
- Face all scooters the same direction.
- Stand them up, then line them up side-by-side.
- You can stack the front end of scooters on the base board, or back end, of the row in front of them, to create more room, while still protecting the most fragile parts on the scooter.
How NOT to pack a trailer
- Do not place scooters facing different directions.
- Do not pile scooters ever.
- Never throw a scooter, under any circumstances. This is dangerous to you and those around you, and harmful to the scooter, too.
General Reminders on Transporting Scooters
- Proper stacking helps reduce the breaks on scooters.
- Always try to transport scooters standing up, when possible. If you cannot, then stack them in alternating directions so the necks don't touch.
- Never grab a scooter by the brake cable on/under the base of the scooter. This can create serious damage to the scooter, and danger to riders.
- Never drive with scooters hanging out of your vehicle.
- Remember to load properly, even when dealing with a large volume of tasks
