Helmet laws vary in every region, country and city. We at Lime recommend that you wear a helmet any time you use any of our bikes and scooters, preferably Snell, CPSC, ANSI or ASTM-approved. It should be sized, fitted and fastened per manufacturer instructions. Helmets and other protective gear are no guarantee against personal injury, but better to be safe than sorry. Helmets are required by law in some areas, so definitely wear one if those laws apply to you. If you choose not to wear a helmet and are injured, you chose to take that risk and we are not responsible. You and your passengers are of course required to wear seat belts in any of our car-sharing vehicles.
For minors, helmets are required:
Minors over 16 can use non-electric bikes only that you have rented, but they must wear a helmet and perform the necessary safety checks (both discussed below), and you must educate them on the laws that apply to them and supervise their use at all times. You are legally responsible for all their activity as if it was your own.
